Share Your Story

At my grandmother’s memorial, the pastor said something I have thought about ever since: Know more than someone’s name. Know their story.

That idea sits at the heart of why this blog exists, and why I am writing a book called Blessings From The Dark.

I share my own story throughout this site. Losing my daughter Isabella, who was an angel before she ever drew a breath. Losing my father not long after. Walking with my wife through cancer. The years that broke me also taught me something I could not have learned any other way — that blessings come from the dark, even when you cannot see them yet. The Inspiration side of this blog exists for the same reason the book does. To extend a hand to anyone in a dark place and walk with them toward the light.

The other side of this blog — the personal finance side — exists because I have spent my career in finance and have watched too many people I care about struggle with money in ways they didn’t have to. Living paycheck to paycheck. Carrying debt that follows them for decades. Reaching retirement without enough saved. Not because they aren’t smart, but because no one ever taught them. I want this blog to help with that too.

I know my story is only one. The people I most want to reach — whether you are in your hardest moment or trying to build a stronger future — often feel like they are figuring it out alone. You are not.

So whatever brought you here, I would love to hear from you.

  • If something has shaped how you see your life — a loss you are still carrying, a hope you almost let go of, a blessing you did not expect — I would love to hear about it
  • If you have a money question, a financial situation you are working through, or a topic you wish I would write about — I would love to know
  • If you have your own story of getting up after getting knocked down — share it

You do not need to be a writer. You do not need to know what the point of your story is. Sometimes the meaning becomes clearer just in the telling.

How this works:

  • Share as much or as little as feels right
  • Your story stays private unless you give permission to share it
  • If you do give permission, I will only share it the way you have said you are comfortable — anonymously, with just your first name, or fully attributed
  • I read every message personally
  • I will reply when I can, though sometimes I may not have words equal to what you have shared
Share as much or as little as feels right.
Your story stays private by default. Only share publicly if and how you choose.

If you would prefer to write directly, you can reach me at chris@moneyandinspiration.com.

Thank you for trusting me with this.
